I found this inside of a tv. I cannot find a datasheet anywhere. The web seems to indicate the JVC is the manufacturer. Does anyone know how these transformers are typically wired? I want to build a 120V AC to 12 V DC rectifier.

U cannot use those with mains voltage.
Don't ask why too much.

Just know that it's an SMPS transformer.

 

I appreciate the reply, I am having a bit of trouble finding a clear reference for SMPS transformers. Could you elaborate on why I can't use it or what any of the terminals may do?

They can't survive at 50 to 60 Hz. They are designed for about a thousand times that frequency.

 

Try using a power transformer

look up the designs of computer psu and ull be on ur way
the basic idea is 250 comes in turn to dc then runs though a mosfet to drive the tranny theres a chip that reads output and controls the input to regulate its self though pwm
if u google psu pwm chip ull get some data there as well
ud be far better using a computer psu more current and esayly moddable
some wea on the net is the atx standard and gives a good rundown

be careful with smp they are deadly and also can be good rf noise producer not for begginers or simppletons
