I intend to make a light switch with a touch pad and RF remote control. As the lighting circuit in my house does not have an earth or neutral connection some cunning is required. I intend to appropriate the circuit from a design explored by BigClive
In this circuit the '0V' rail is a half-wave rectified mains supply voltage so I don't expect that a standard capacitive touch switch would work so I am thinking of a circuit as below and using either a digital uC pin and looking for transitions or possibly using the ADC. The tough pad would be foil or a piece of PCB behind a blanking plate where the original light switch was.
Is this likey to work?
Is there a better way?
