Touch screens questions

The "scanning optical cameras" sense a finger as a point at a X-Y coordinate. That X-Y position maps onto the display in the same way as the mouse pointer.

Yes, i know that much but i am wondering more about the physical arrangements and the type of components they use.

I hate touch screens. :p

At a former workplace, we received an Agilent network analyzer with a touch screen, and I couldn't get my supervisor to keep his cotton pickin' fingers off the doggone thing, and it would have fingerprints all over it. :mad: Just what I needed, another distraction. :p
