Torque Measurement

I am working on a project that will measure the amount of torque placed on a a screw driver using strain gauges. I am having trouble determining exactly what is required to actually read the output from the strain gauges. Does anyone know of a resource that would be helpful? I have looked into some wheatstone bridges but wasn't sure that was the only option.

Any help is much appreciated.

A torque strain gauge usually consists of two or four elements connected in a Wheatstone bridge configuration. You also need a stable DC supply and a means to calibrate it.
