In my opinion, forget martinis (no offense intended), I'll stick with my 15 year old Scotch.....
If no Scotch, I'll settle for some fine VSOP Cognac...

How did we get off on a drinking topic???

PS: If one likes Vodka, I like the hard to find "Spelt Grain" type of Vodkas like Orkisz (or Snow Leopard or V-One). Hard to find... Spelt Grain is originally an Egyptian grain in biblical times, commonly grown in Europe now....

Don't laugh. Phenothiazines can cause that. Of course, none of us are on that nutritional supplement, right?
Wow... you made me Google that one up... I didn't know about that drug, nor its uses for very serious issues.

Descriptions

Phenothiazines are used to treat serious mental and emotional disorders, including schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. Some are used also to control agitation in certain patients, severe nausea and vomiting, severe hiccups, and moderate to severe pain in some hospitalized patients.

On topic, I have been a sucker for red wines from Argentina and Chile for many years -- almost exclusively Malbec or Carménère . Anyone here have experience with Italian wines from the Piedmont(e) area?

It's effects and side-effects were well known in American pharmacology. For an entirely different purpose (i.e., identifying bacteria) I was interested in phenothiazines in the 1990's. Not surprisingly, a lot of the organic chemistry was done in Soviet Russian research hospitals. You can easily imagine the purpose.

Alto Las Hormigas, one of them, I recall.
Ah, yes. I have a small stock of that dating back to 1999.

I have not bought any wine since 2017's holidays and need to restock. For a really cheap, every day wine one of my favorites is Casillero del Diablo (Malbec, Vina Concha y Toro, Santiago, Chili). By the case, it is about $12/btl. There are several regulars from Argentina that I get. This year, I wanted to branch out a little and try Italian.

There are also some pretty decent Mexican wines out there, particularly from the Baja California region. Have you ever tried "Vino de Piedra"?

No, but I might. In Ohio, alcoholic beverages are highly regulated and prices are fixed. The net result is that wine selection is poor -- even in a town the size of Cleveland. So, I mail order usually and can always mix in a few experimental bottles.

I’ve found a new favorite Irish whiskey. Jameson Caskmate Stout was a previous favorite. Then this one became available.

It’s Jameson Irish Whiskey, aged in charred barrels. It takes but one word to describe it.

Smooth.

Those are not U.S.D ... right? And if they're pesos, then you found a $50 dlls bargain because down here it costs about $80 dlls.
Oh my, I was relying on my French and didn't check that. Good point. Still looking for a seller who will ship to Ohio. Our alcoholic beverage laws are very "arcane." For example, a holiday shipment intended for one of my daughters accidentally shipped to me. I took it to FedEx to forward and was told that if I changed to invoice to "old grape juice" they could accept it, but I might get arrested for bootlegging. I took the high road, enjoyed the wine and found another shipper who would ship to that daughter's residence.

PS: I would still like an SA -- not South America.
