Few wealthy families are stupid. I just enjoy watching when they are. Tax cuts for the Rich theories are built on the theory that ALL rich people are stupid. They are not.

Also, the 1986 tax reform bill was successful from the tax revenue generated by closing tax loopholes than it did on the basic tax rate changes. Look it up. Especially the alternative minimum tax.

Actually, two things.

I'm a little surprised @cmartinez has not schooled us in proper tequila consumption. Most of my experience in drinking tequila in Mexico involved certain crucial elements that Americans know nothing about: jicama root and sangrita. That's not sangria, it's sangrita, look it up. And yes of course salt and lime wedges. Tequila straight, not iced. 1800 and Herradura are both good selections. Don't miss the chance to try Don Julio if it's ever offered to you. I love it but struggle with the price.

 

Personally, I consider Vodka the lowest of the low forms of distilled beverages...

Have you tried Tito's out of Austin? It's my new go-to vodka and it's quite good. It's business has grown very rapidly and it gets good reviews.

... though I have to admit that I enjoy a good margarita every now and then... and a "vampiro" too...

 

In my late teens/early 20s I was a functioning alcoholic. Poison of choice, vodka. Bottom shelf, plastic bottle. Cheap & effective. Drank it to the point of puking so many times that eventually I couldn't stomach it any longer. To this day the smell of vodka makes my stomach turn. To me, it has quite a flavor, and not a good one.

It was just a phase. I had no struggle in letting it go. I just grew out of it I guess. I know a lot of people can't have a drink without relapsing into alcoholism. I can have a drink anytime I want without fear or guilt and I feel fortunate about that. With Cigarettes on the other hand, I am an addict.

We all have our weaknesses... some have them in plain sight, others' are invisible... I'm glad that in your case, alcohol is not one of them

Tonight I had brandy, Fireball, vodka and beer. Halloween block party! I went as Kylo Ren.

 

Gin and Tonic, laid 2.5 yards of concrete just finished and hr ago, now I have another 2.5 to do on the east side of the house. But, they short loaded me by a little under a 1/4 yard so I have till Wednesday to order a truck. Broke the inside drivers side door handle on my truck, broke the key off in the ignition and blew my transmission pulling a U-cart Trailer otherwise a good day. I'll just pay the short haul and have it delivered screw it.

Cheers, I gave my cousin a Gin & Tonic with a little lime as suggested by @wayneh he made the same bitter look and shook his head when remarked my experience learning on the Forum and told him ya, I said the exact same thing, we were both beat at the end of the day, when I said time for a drink, his eye's opened and said ya, I'll take one and call my wife to pick me up. I made him 2 stiff ones, 3 fingers each in a short brandy glass, I told him this will put you in heaven and you won't feel muscle ache or a hang over. I'm sure he won't ever turn down one of my Gin & Tonics, if I offer it again. Of course Toquilla is the go to drink if not Gin.

We're gearing up for another 2.5 yards on Wednesday and .5 on Saturday both of us 60 this year we divided the work up to have rest time. In my youth we would have poured all 6 yards in one poor with 2 people, not now.

Next time, try it with a thin slice of cucumber, and a sprig of rosemary, instead of the lime... it's a very interesting change in aroma and flavor.

What’s with this ice cold alcohol thing. Pour it in a highball glass (or brandy sniffer) and warm it in your hand, enjoy as the aroma builds and drink it in small sips.

It's just when I first tried Crown my Son In-law puts his in the Freezer. We went to October fest as a Family rented a hotel at the location Snow Bird Resort to drink and not worry about getting home. Had a great time, played cards that night when my daughter says time for shots pulling his bottle from the freezer, I was drinking Brandy warm and the Crown was wonderful, now that I think about it maybe the contrast was a difference because the Crown doesn't taste like that night.

Next one is going to be Brandy glass warm to see the difference.
