All the talk abt due process:rolleyes: Tell Freddie Gray's family about it! The man was fatally injured in police custody and the police aren't responsible!? You bet:rolleyes:! Small wonder they opted out of jury trial so conniving judge could walk them clean! But if ordinary mortal kills an armed intruder in their residence the charge is often as not murder:mad:! I say some ppl on here are proof Limbaugh, Beck, and Levin have a huge audience after all:rolleyes: You can lick the boots of authority all you like but I say you're just whistling in the dark! And I'm not a leftest or anti US or anything like that either! I'm just sick and tired of apologists for a broken system and that includes government of Canada (which is my home):( I also say you can love your country but detest it's leadership!

PS HP Don't bother reminding me how you told me to stay out of it cuz you have to practice what you preach:rolleyes:!

I was thinking I could move to Canada if the wrong guy gets elected here.
What could be wrong with Canada?
Edit:
I think they overcharged in the Freddie case. They might have gotten something on a lesser charge. Maybe they did it that way just to stop the debate.. I don't know.

Dude... you're welcome to move down to Mexico anytime you like... hell... we can be neighbours if it suits you ;)

Edit: Canadians are welcome too... never met a Canadian I didn't like... then again, maybe I don't know enough Canadians ;)

I don't understand why the cops are still there: let those people rot in their own cesspool and they may come to appreciate the cops more.

community policing is the way to go to bring accountability to each community.

I can not attest to Freddie grays actions while in police custody. Did he get in the van and sat there during his transport? Do you have video of the driver driving erratically?

What people tell the press and what they testify to under oath and a possible perjury charge can be two different stories.

If an ordinary citizen kills an intruder down here, it rarely gets past the grand jury. I say rarely because i haven't seen it happen yet.

Now in other area's it was surprise me if they are prosecuted.

As far as the choice between a judge or jury, I believe the defendant makes that choice. The could have called for a different venue for the jury pool because of the discriminating claims in the new which could bias a jury.

Yes, I was thinking about that until you told me how expensive the housing is. Your place looks nice. Do you have any room in the basement?:D

I don't know how he broke his neck. That is the point. I've hear all sorts of stories but nothing official. However, absent any proof, no one was convicted.

The staged van scenario didn't use a replica of the real van. I read where there was an extruding bolt about the height of his wound on the neck that lead to some credence of a self inflicted injury because he as the only person in that section of the van.

I've not read any official reports on the incident also. The only thing out there are the news and internet gossip, including the gossip here.

What's next, Michael Brown and hands up?

@JoeJester
I guess he just broke his own neck for something to do while he was out for a ride?
The stupid DA shares some of the responsibility with the cops for the lack of accountability for acts of "omission" in securing the passenger.
I was assigned to suicide watch once for a guy in the ships brig. We were told if the guy died we would be in that jail cell on suicide watch. I made damn sure he was safe during my watch. I would expect the police to do the same.

If the person is dead that's a Homicide. There are at least three types of Homicide. Self-defense (Homicide is not always a crime), voluntary manslaughter and murder.
I grant you that, as per etymology, 'homicide' is indeed applicable to destruction of human life in general - Its 'stand alone' legal usage, however, is often distinguished from 'manslaughter' and even 'justified...' (e.g. self defense) and 'sanctioned...' (e.g. line of duty military) acts... Inasmuch as my word choice appears to be problematic - please, by all means, interpret 'homicide' as synonymous with 'Murder' (Re: my posts above)...

That's not a legal rational for a charge of murder and you know it
I know nothing of the kind! -- Howbeit I concede that video footage alone (damning though such may be) does not constitute basis for conviction in and of itself...

You are making assumptions...
Possibly -- though I daresay, all else being equal, said assumptions would meet with less opposition was the shooter other than law enforcement? -- In any event please be advised that I'm not advocating 'bypassing' due process...

What is sad is that US society has gravitated to a society of blame. That is what's sad
Blame or responsibility? -- Crutcher's death was not owed to natural causes:confused: --- IMO the 'saddest' trend in US society is the ever increasing level of polarization -- with corollary 'conquest by division' of the populace:(

Best regards
HP
