The virtual Ground

I am a bit confused about the virtual ground. The voltage at node A is apparently at 0V, I can't seem to except this. To me the total voltage should be V2 + V1 and should be shared across the two resistors. Therefore to me the voltage at A should be (v1+v2)R2/R1+R2. I've been pondering over this all morning and understanding this would help me understand how the inverting OP-AMP works, I get easily confused so please explain as simply as possible. Cheers
