BTW... weren't you the one who corrected me a while back, when I said that "electricity follows the path of least resistance?" ... you were right, my explanation was wrong because it over-simplified something that's a little more complex than that.

I don't think the cartoon is intended to address simple (or complex) questions that can be calculated or proven or measured to have a single answer. I think the cartoon is about complex questions with results that that include uncertainty and unintended consequences. I was a bit surprised that you implied an association between liberal, complex and bad/wrong. The contemporary association with bad or wrong in this vein has been: George W Bush, simplistic and bad/wrong.

I feel the same way sometimes... but then again, we're (supposedly) experienced members of this place and know our limits... if a noob comes and finds political comments in this thread he/she might feel entitled to contribute, and then start a reaction that might not be so easy to stop.

Maybe the mods are just behaving like firemen... extinguishing the potential fires before they catch on? ... I say I can live with that.

Yes to both; in Antarctica. Moreover: in Palmer Station I was invited by a group of American (or British? ) guys to have a drink consisting of whiskey on the rocks. Whiskey was 12 but the ice, taken from the glacier nearby, said to be some 200 years old .
