An old blind cowboy goes into a bar one day.
Without knowing it he actually entered an all girl bar by mistake.
He wanders over to a barstool and asks for a shot of "Jack Daniels".
He sits there for a while, then calls out to the bartender "Hey! You wanna hear a blond joke?
At that point the entire bar falls deadly silent.
In a very deep husky voice the woman next to him says "Before you tell that joke cowboy I think it is only fair given that you are blind that you should know five things; The bar tender is a blond girl with a baseball bat. The bouncer is a blond girl with a club. I'm a six foot tall, 175 pound blond woman with a black belt in Karate. The woman sitting next me is blond and a professional weight lifter. The lady to your right is blond and a professional wrestler. Now think about it seriously cowboy; do you still wanna tell that joke?"
The blind cowboy thinks for a second, shakes his head, then mutters "No, not if I'm going to have to explain it five times."

While superficially cute, it is wrong on a few fronts.

If a gram of U-235 undergoes complete fission, it releases about 8.22E10 J of energy, which is about 20 billion calories, which is 20 million Calories (a dietary Calorie is 1000 calories or 1 kcal). So, assuming that the "eating a grams" is a typo and was supposed to be "eating a gram", and using the nominal diet of 2000 Calories per day, that's 10,000 days, or 27.4 years. While that's likely the rest of MY life (but perhaps not), it's certainly not a valid general claim.

I know it's largely just me, but I tend to like jokes more when the author makes at least some attempt to use numbers that are not off by three orders of magnitude.

Then the response that it is technically correct in more ways that one is clearly meant to imply that if you eat a gram of uranium that it will cut your life so short that it will certainly be enough energy. But the lethal does of orally ingested uranium is unknown, because there has never been a known case of a human dying from ingesting uranium. The best estimates are that the LD50 is at least several grams and might be as high as 10 g or even a bit more.

You're planning to live for 27,400 years? That's beyond optimistic.
Do....the....math.

1 g of uranium releases about 8.22E10 J of energy.

There are 4.184 J in one calorie.

So 1 g of uranium releases about 1.96E10 calories.

There are 1000 calories in a kilocalorie, also known as a Calorie, or Nutritional Calorie or Dietary Calorie.

So 1 g of uranium releases about 1.96E7 Calories.

The "nominal" human dietary intake is generally taken to be 2000 Cal/day.

So 1 g of uranium is sufficient for 9823 days.

There about 365.24 days in a year.

So 1 g of uranium is sufficient for 26.90 years (the 27.4 years came from using 365 days per year).

That would make me just shy of 87 years old and I doubt I will make it that far, but it is certainly not out of the question.

The "average" American diet is about 2700 kcal/day, which would bring that down to just under 20 years. I'm hoping that I actually do make it at least that far.

I think after eating a gram of it your life span wouldn't amount to much more than 27 days. If not shorter.
Based on what?

Despite well over half a century of very active industries working with the stuff, including a number of notable accidents, there has never been a known case of any human dying from ingesting uranium. As I noted in my initial response, the best estimates for the LD50 are at least five to ten times that amount.
