"We're not gonna make it, are we? People I mean."

No, it doesn't look good. All started with warning labels. Should have left nature alone and let it sort out the problem. But no - we just had to warn stupid people of dangers they should have been able to see. Chicken legs; back legs only? I never realized chickens might have front legs as well. But then again I've never seen a four legged chicken. Anyone else ever see one?

its’s a tautology.
Had to look it up.
logic : a statement that is true by virtue of its logical form alone
A logical combination of sentences that is always true, regardless of the truth or falsity of the constituent sentences, is known as a "tautology."—Rudy Rucker

… now the objection was raised that the entire theory of natural selection rested on a tautology: "Who survives? The fittest. Who are the fittest? Those that survive."—Ernst Mayr
“do you want milk in your coffee or not?"
Still a little over my head. Do you want milk in your coffee? Do you NOT want milk in your coffee? HMMMmmmm. Must be the hat. Clay lining. Nothing gets through clear.

those who survive can also be the luckiest, not the fittest ...
Seems we're being plagued with dumb lucky people. I never read warning labels and seldom have I regretted it. There HAVE been times when I knew I should unplug that device before working on it but for some reason I thought I'd never contact line voltage (120VAC). It happens. Good sense versus dumb luck I suppose. Had an old house which was wired with hot and neutral reversed. I cursed the owner's name several times before I just unscrewed the fuse before working on a circuit.
