Explanation accepted.Beaver is slang for female genitalia, while some mods felt it was fairly benign(myself being one of them), it was decided it was too over the top. Mods do discuss things like this offline, Group consensus usually wins. Sometimes we get it right, other times maybe not. It can be a flip of the coin.
However, there are many things that have been slang-a-fied, in other words, taken out of context and turned into some with unclean minds and made off limits. On the news (and I'm not making a joke of this) a woman ordered a cake to celebrate her son's graduation from college. While I don't recall the entire quote, part of what was requested on the cake were the words "Cum Laud", which is latin. I don't know what it means, but the C word was censured from the cake. When she went to pick it up she was rather upset that someone would decide that her words were offensive. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Well, maybe something similar can be said of what is heard being in the ear of the listener.
Yes, the post I linked WAS intended to be somewhat oriented toward the slang of the word, but I've not heard of anyone being offended by the B word before. If someone was offended, I apologize.
There are team names that can be called into question under the same scrutiny. The Oregon State Beavers Women's Basketball team. Women who refer to themselves as Beavers? OK, one person may think of the animal that builds dams in streams, while someone else may think of - well - you know.
Nevertheless, I accept your decision to remove the link. I don't want to offend anyone. I didn't think anyone would be offended by it, but perhaps someone DID complain.
Thank you for the clarification.
