The knuckleheads that built my house installed an electric grill (nice) without a vent hood (idiotic). We hardly use it except for steaks in the dead of winter. My family all knows to expect the siren when the smoke reaches a certain level. It's always when the steaks get turned and a little extra grease hits the burners.

My detectors have a feature where you can cancel the alarm for 13 minutes. Why 13 I have no idea. But you just push the button. If the smoke is bad it will sound again within a minute. Happens all the time in my house. You might have to push the button three times in order to silence the alarm.

We have a swamp cooler (evaporative cooler) with a programmed thermostat. When you demand cold air it runs the water pump for 4 minutes before turning the fan on. You can't just turn the fan on when you want - you have to wait the four minutes regardless. So pumping fresh air into the hallway where the detector is - isn't going to work. Maybe one day I'll disassemble it and find the timer circuit and rig it up to bypass the timer in the event of only demanding air and not cold air. That would be more useful than the annoying button that my wife can't even reach.

Have an over the stove microwave with vent hood. It's able to be vented directly outside. However, I have no soffit so running a pipe through the ceiling is somewhat unappealing. I COULD vent straight out through the wall but the wall is brick with brick veneer. Trying to vent out through that could damage a significant portion of the wall. That MIGHT cut down on some of the trapped smoke in the house when she's making bacon or using the griddle (gas).

Huge problem with that, grease buildup. Commercial kitchen stove/grill vents are required to have fire suppression and yearly cleaning which takes a specialized contractor and inspection for certification.

Eggs & Beans? That's weirder than "Green eggs & ham".
I had that combination just this morning! Beans and eggs, not green eggs and ham. I'd never use that kind of bland, canned beans in "syrup" like shown. And I make my eggs over easy or poached in the beans. I can't imagine a hard boiled egg in that role.

When I was in Houston someone served me breakfast - biscuits & gravy. I didn't know what it was so I ate the gravy - ick! Then I ate the biscuits. Eh. Then I tried Gator. Tasted like chicken. So why all the fuss and expense to eat something that tastes like chicken?

Yeah I never got the idea of the beans.

Then of course there are the bangers which is another story. ;)
Beans are protein, and not unlike having ham or bacon with your eggs. That falls apart, in my opinion, when the beans are sickly sweet like the canned "baked" beans in the U.S. Refried beans or my home-made baked beans are awesome with breakfast. Give it a go.

It's the blood sausage I struggle with. I liked it fine until I realized what it was.
