When I was working my way through school as a fitter/welder the most important tool in my chest was a 5 lb cross peen hammer. It could knock anything into shape! The second most important tool in my chest was a 2"x2" copper bar about 6" long. The guys who cut the steel were always cutting it too short or too long. Too long called for a torch to shorten it and too short called for the copper bar to back the gap so I could fill it with weld! Weld won't stick to copper!
