In my office last year, there was a Mexican woman and a Puerto Rican man. I told him he would have to go back east a long ways to hear his type of Spanish. He agreed as when the woman talked, he had a difficult time following her.

There were similarities in both their dialects and still differences between the two of them and Spaniard Spanish. Spanish is close enough to Italian that I could understand a few of the words. It makes sense since Spain was part of the Roman Empire at one time.

 

Let's get back on topic with this Darwin Circuit.

Here is my favorite from the past week...

Friends of mine where in Hawaii. They where observing a lava flow. Barriers and plenty of warning signs blocked people from getting too close. There was a newlywed couple also watching the flow. Hubby decides to ignore the barriers and signs and walked out on to one of the solidified sections. Just as wifey was lining up the camera, hubby disappears in a flash below the crust.

I was a similar thing there but in my case the genius survived. In my case it was a blow hole with high waves. As hubby was lining up a huge wave hit the shore. Hundreds, if not thousands of gallons of water came crashing at his feet. Had he been a couple of steps closer in, he would have been washed off the rock.
