I say that electronic engineering tends to disappear as well, since many can only be solved by software.
You buy the board and write the software and solve the problem.

But the software tends to disappear. Few want to study the Assembler.
During the Intel 8086 processor we were very enthusiastic about C language.
I remember we were going to go to classes to practice this C/ C++.

Now most use the computer for Facebook.

I have also met many very good at programming today, but they seem to be getting less and less.

For example, there are all kinds of interesting and easy to use applications to make your WEB page, which is why it is feasible for the future WEB designer to disappear.

With the cheap and very fast controllers.......and the cheap large mem arrays..........and the miniaturization.......and the low cost of stamping this stuff out.........(did I mention how cheap everything is)......processors will soon be self programming. You will just tell the processor symbolically.......the chip takes care of the rest. Even if it has to search and research for a solution.

The value of AI isn't its' intelligence.........it's being connected and finding solutions without human instruction/interaction.

Think of a google search engine for software....for processors. And a connected library is memory(for a processor). Worldwide processor hierarchy.

Very Scary. The first thing it will do.......is cipher it's own code..............?

Would make a good story.

As for the CEO........I hope he is correct on some of that, but hope he is wrong on some too.

The 'real' future of humanity with powerful AI.
https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/12/16766596/ai-fake-porn-celebrities-machine-learning
Experts in the AI community say they’re dismayed and disappointed by this use of the technology, but some see it as an opportunity to have a much-needed conversation about the future of digital imagery. Alex Champandard, a researcher who builds AI-powered creative tools, tells The Verge that there needs to be better public understanding of what technology can do. He also suggests that researchers can and should build programs that are better at spotting such fakes.

Do you think someday a computer program will access the Internet will read our discussion and learn electronics?

And then that computer program will be able to rely the questions asked on the forum?

About Artificial Intelligence I do not agree with the sigmoid function:

It has nothing to do with the functioning of a biologic neuron.

If you want and I wish we can take a simple program of artificial intelligence and comment on it.
In a language that we know more, like C.

What I find interesting, is how with this increase in productivity we become increasingly unhappy...........

The problem in many countries is that you are too fat and from that appear health problems. However, we complain that we do not have sufficient of what we want.

Once with the Newcomen machine, mankind has experienced a very great progress. That's why I appreciate the English for the technological revolution.
Since then, women have started working at the same level as men.Because they no longer needed physical force.

But now it seems we are waiting for another technological revolution .....
The world is starting to change radically ....

Can only be solved by software or easier to solve with software? Only is a powerful word.

You buy the board and write the software and solve the problem.
Who designed the circuits on the board? Who designed the components?

I'm thinking there are electronics engineers in the process somewhere.

Yes there are electronics engineers in there but not so many. My brother trained as an ee and had a long career designing medical test equipment. Like the thing that the hospital used to see that the EKG machine will in fact detect heart problems. Hospitals are required to test these things regularly. His company was later bought by a major test equipment maker. When I later asked for some help on a circuit I was working on he informed me that he doesn't really do that anymore. Circuit design department does that and he writes the code. I think he misses designing the circuit instead of reading the manual from those guys and doing the coding. But later on I was able to help him out on something thanks to this site so we're all happy.

I did not say they disappeared, but there is a tendency to disappear.

Due to the possibility of being programmed, the devices will have wide applications.

E.g.:
1. In industry. I would liked a company to call me to design a circuit according to customer specifications. For money.
But what does they prefer to do?
He prefers to buy a programmable logic controller that he program it very easily

2. About software.

Operating System Windows it meant a business of a lot of money.
But someone comes in and launches a free operating system.
I downloaded from the Internet Zorin OS a Linux that can run Windows programs for free.

The effect?
Windows 8.1 with Bing costs very little or free if you buy a cheap device.

And how difficult it is to make an operating system you offer ... free

3. I worked in atomic physics research.
We were studying specific things.
Now scientific articles have been promoted. If at CERN where has more money than us, a physical phenomenon has already been studied and why should we study it again?
When we can access the journal in which it was published results, working method with the technique
with much performance than ours

Edit: CERN uses Linux (free!)
Windows will only use it for those who do not know Linux.

One of the richest worldwide research centers .........uses a free operating system(Linux)!
Only my country contributed a few million dollars per year for CERN.

CERN does not use a free operating system (Linux) just to write a text or read a pdf
as like the secretaries do.

They use them to run complicated simulation programs.
These simulation programs from CERN,
Which have been earned with much work and money invested..........
are free on the internet

Your program is worthless if there is no real world interface ... I.e. circuits. Yes, you can but pre-made circuits.

Software alone can't do anything. You need real components and real circuits.

I am not sure why you are wasting everyone's time.
Sometimes I accept criticism ....
It is time for withdraw that the discussion does not degenerate .......

If I find the option to delete the account.......this is due to respect for the forum colleagues.

By "I am not sure why" and not "I do not know why" tells us that he knows a reason why I'm talking about stupid things.

I do not know what would be the reason? Than he's supposed to say first that he suspects that I'm crazy.
And then, after I apologize, to say that he is convinced, no longer suspects

Why would he do that? When I entered on the forum because did not work an electronic component bought from a store?

If you want the answer, ask me and I can detail it.
It's not related to the one who gave me this answer. I just talked about this as an abstract hypothetical situation.
