Mine was a 1984 Chevy S-10 4-speed with long bed and small V6 that was kept mostly indoors. Gave it to my oldest grandson for his 16th. Great car. Still looks good. Love that small V6. His dad drives it more than he does. Lousy deal from GM.

I went online because I had never heard of these "Shop-Your-Way points". I noted that there was a small banner stating that, starting Feb 1, they would not count toward meeting minimum amount for free shipping.

 

Yeah, I’ll be indoors for the next few days and spending those points is on my agenda. Use ‘em or lose ‘em.

The long-promised demise of Sears has been slowly playing out for years now, and it shows no signs of stopping. Currently, the namesake chain has just about a dozen stores left in the entire country, but that's not the only brand that's struggling. Sears Hometown Stores Inc., a franchise-owned chain also under the Sears umbrella, is now gearing up to close its last remaining locations across the U.S.

I actually live in one. When doing some remodeling and taking some base boards up they all had a Sears tag on the inside of them.

 

I'm also lucky that I know a little of the history of the house. The basement was dug out with a slip scoop pulled by two horses. The main beam supporting the floor joists, is a handhewn 12x12 from the original barn that was on the property. That barn was torn down by the guy that built the house, but he saved the small barn that was a milking parlor. He sold milk and eggs locally and raised chickens to sell by mail order.

He turned the milking parlor into a work shop where he made guitars and violins. He fell off of the roof of the shop 2 1/2 stories high when he was repairing the slate roof, but didn't die. He was 92 when he fell and died at 94 from pneumonia.

The original farm house that he bought the land from is a couple of house away from me. He sold off most of the land and they built a housing development on it behind my property.
