Test leads ?

I bought some multimeter test leads off eBay and the banana plug ends have bare screw heads on them that clamp the wires in, the seller tells me that's normal, I'm saying it's not safe, what do you think ?

They are a normal sort of banana plug but they are not normal for DMM test leads because if they are used for dangerous voltages they are unsafe.

Most test leads today even shield the banana male part. An exposed conductive part connected to potentially dangers voltages is inherently dangerous.
