Hi i have an issue with an engine starting its an elec issue as far as i can determine , marine engine that when starting displays neutral in MFD (dash) and start .... no problems if i run this engine for a few hours and shut down and go to restart this is where the issue is ... when key on the ignition to start if display turns from Neutral to service in the dash display the engine will spin over at normal speed but will not start. some times i can clear this SERVICE indicator by simply key off key on several times to have it settle displaying Neutral and then it will start ... this comes and goes as it wants it dosent effect engine while running its only the start issue, but notice this issue more once engine is warm and if i cant get it to start come back the following day and bam its all good and will start a scan of engine displays 2 faults P1705 engine start blocked by immobilizer & P1601 relay for supply voltage terminal 30 ...... engine is new ( but old stock 2012) TDI 4.2 V8 VM marine diesel .... basically can the immobilizer be removed from the system obviously the ecus used in these engines are the same as the automotive version but certainly dont need an immobilizer stopping you from starting on water in a storm ...... any advice help much appreciated

 

have you tried replacing the relay? Other than that you're probably not going to get much of an answer unless someone on here has specifically had the same problem and worked on their own car.
