What can be done to get Tango to work on XP with a VESA driver?
VESA1024.drv works in DOS with an ATI Rage Pro 128, but gives a memory address error in XP.
autoexec.NT and comfig.NT are being utalized, but I haven't added anything to them.
I tried updated the XP driver from ATI Rage to VESA1024, but it was looking for a .inf.
could I use a .inf file, with the VESA1024.drv in it?

I don't think Tango works on anything but DOS or in the DOS mode. I upgraded to Eagle for that very reason, Tango and Autotrax for DOS v1.62 didn't work under windows. On my versions they did a lot of direct access to video memory which is not allowed under XP and later.
You might try XP's 'compatibility mode'.
Good luck.

Yep... It looks like it's time to come into the 21st century. It's the direct screen draws that are doing you in.

Gawd I LOVED Tango PCB in the 80's.
I had the suite (all 3) PCB, SCHEMATIC, and Tango ROUTE

Would do almost ANYTHING to have it back.

Even run a DOS machine.
