Hi,

Just starting out with logic gates so apologies if you have seen this question so many times

Can someone tell me the difference between ∑m (which I know is sum of min terms)
∑ d (which I have no idea what this means) are these sum of Don't cares

I am still researching on my own but will be grateful for any input

Thanks

Can you provide the context of that information? I have never seen a reference to the sum of don' care terms before.

@Georacer

Sure here is what the full question looks like
I am to find the simplified expression for "F"
F(A,B, C, D) = ∑m(0,1,3,7,8,10) + ∑d (2,12,14)

Yes, 2,12 and 14 seem to be don't care terms. So just throw them in a Karnaugh map, stir 'em a bit and see what comes out of the pot.
