I am an electronic hobbiest. I want to design a precision water level indicator range is about( 2mm to 1000mm). For this could any one suggest me that which sensor I can use or where these details are available? If the sensor support s I2C or SPI that is good for me.. thank you...

It will be difficult to get down below 20-50mm.
