OK, I've been able to definatively prove it is a corrupt script file that is the heart of the <OMEGA> markup issue. I did this by converting the output html file to .txt, and looking at it. There is an added "amp;" in the string. When I looked at the script file as a .txt file it was there, but is hidden in html format.

The SubML file is complete. For future testing purposes I need good copies of the script files. The only way I can do this (short of retyping them by hand) is either get a .tar decompressor for XP or get them packed in .zip.

You can use LaTeX (wrap command in \( blocks):

\Omega

Otherwise you are restricted to using either a GIF-file of Omega or an ASCII symbol.

I found a decompressor that works here...

It's a bit clunky, it will extract the files in the same directory as the compressed file, but it works. I now have SubML worked out enough to use. Should I .zip them up for other people?

I learned about the shortcut keys a long time ago andthe Omega is the only one I use on a regular basis. I have a short list in my work 'puter and I'm at home now, I'll post them tomorrow. Anyways there is a "character map" that has all of this, you just drag-n-drop.

Pick your font style and go from there, the Omega is available in several
styles. there is also stuff like:
® ¶ ¼, you get the drift.

Bill, I have read the 555 Schmitt Trigger article and confirm that I am happy with the content, as long as you are happy with the circuit functionality. If so, then I am happy for Dennis to go ahead and add the article to the Experiments Volume.

As for the character maps, AFAIK this will only work with numbers on the Num-pad. We actually had these synbols back in the Invision days here at AAC, however when we upgraded to vbulletin we only went for the LaTeX editor - perhaps there is scope for a few common symbols.

OK, I'll still do it, and let you know the results. Been busy at the Marsden household, graduation, and other events all crowded together for the first week. I plan on building off this layout with other ideas.
