The thread has from the beginning about the Toyota Prius, which as has been demonstrated, not only gets the advertised fuel economy in real world driving, but also is significanly more feul effeciently than any ice car in its class. Some other hybrids might get lesser fuel economy, but what other hybrids do is irrelevant to what is achieved by the prius. Wether its a bag of chips or not, the car gets great economy, and is an excellent choice for many drivers. No amount of pontificating to the contrary will chance that.
I appreciate your support and objective view of the prius, but this thread was actually a technical thread in the beginning. It was meant to discuss ways of improving hybrid design. The Prius, being the front man for good hybrid design, naturally was dragged into it, and remained part of the discussion in large part because I kept harping on it, but no, it was not about the Prius. I doubt we could get this runaway train back on the original topic at this point, being months old and now turned political again.

Ok bro, Im out for good. I'll be on the lookout for a more technically orientated forum to discuss technical aspects of hybrid technology.

I get the impression you took offense to my post. None was intended, and I apologize for wording it poorly.
