Stepping 240 V down to 100 V for use in a Leslie tremelo unit

I am undertaking a project to build a standalone Leslie unit - unfortunately, the unit is made for 100V, while in Australia the standard supply voltage is 220-240 V.

Is there a reasonable step-down transformer I could use to run this unit off of mains power?

Cheers

Thanks for the welcome!

Sorry, I should have given more details -

The unit has two motors - the faster one runs at 25W, the other at 21W. I was planning to use a DPDT switch to control which motor is running.

Also, thanks for the reply!

I couldn't find a way to determine/measure the inrush current. The multimeter I have does not have an inrush current button, but I am sure that I am not doing something right here.

But I don't see why the total power requirement would be more than 25 watts?

Apologies - I found the inrush current to be 6.56ish A. Though I am very very new to any kind of power electronics so I am likely measuring it incorrectly. Thanks for the help.

If you have a power transformer with 240V and 100V taps, it could serve as an autotransformer to convert 240 to 100V. Leave the secondary windings open. You might find such a transformer in an appliance built for the Japanese market, perhaps a microwave oven. In that case, remove the high-voltage secondary (articles/videos on DIY spot welders should explain how to do that).

Thanks for the advice - It may be difficult to procure a transformer like you are describing, so I think I'll repurpose the transformer from the organ the leslie was taken from.

You should be able to find a 48-0-48V or 50-0-50V transformer, or perhaps two 24-0-24V transformers with their secondaries in series. You only need a little bit more than 25VA, to account for the power factor.

The surge is not important, a transformer can run at three times its rated power for a short period of time, and its impedance will tend to limit the inrush (and it will add some inrush of its own)

What is the DC requirements for the circuit, you may be able to swap the transformer or power it from a different psu..any circuit diagram of the model.
