So im building an overly complex and inefficient wristwatch from 4026 and 4017 logic counters. What I need to know is how to use an spst button (4-pin) to have a constant low signal until I press the button, changing it to high.

Thanks!

Connect the switch on the voltage side of the circuit and connect the input (of whatever circuit) to ground through a resistor. The input will be at ground potential until you press the button.

I have a deja-vu feeling about this one. I answered what seems to be a very simple question and the conversation went on for days.

Im probably gonna sound stupid in you opinion, but what?!?! Im not good at this stuff. I just need a constant low till I press the button, then goes high, then low on release (Low being grounded.)
