I'm new to Embedded design, not sure on the SPI functionality in this development board.

Hold your horses. There is no need to run the SPI interface at the maximum rate. The actual data rate is determined by the master device which generates the CLK signal. The peripheral device MUST operate at the rate determined by the SPI bus master. The peripheral might have a maximum rate that it can operate at and the SPI bus master must respect that. In most cases a peripheral device will not have such a limitation.

Thanks, but the ADC will not sample in the max frequency, which is essential for my project

 

If your intent is to use the ADC at the max sampling frequency then an SPI device is not the ideal device.
