did you mean time constant of charge and discharge ?

 

Thinks about it a little,

A capacitor acts like a short for current flow, it will block DC current after a set time,
keys elements to think about,

1.Short circuit
2.short time of current flow.

Certain Digital circuits can produce ambiguious outputs.

What would a capacitor do in that instance, when placed in the proper area of the circuit.

You apparently have no idea how many different ways there are of making a monostable multivibrator.
