How do I specify an RC Snubber (component) for a 250v 13A Inductive Load? Is it best practice to fit a snubber across the switched Live & Neutral (Load) or across the switch (Relay contacts or Triac)?
I have seen circuits where it is connected across the switch (relay or triac) and others where it is connected across the Load. The snubber needs to be rated for a current greater than the switched current and it's reverse breakdown voltage must be greater than the voltage being switched.
Don't know what you mean by live/neutral in this context. The snubber needs to be placed such that it limits the back EMF generated by the inductive load and seen by the switch.
