Speakers drawing too much current from battery? (solved)

I have a pair of speakers, connected to an amplifier, running off of 5v. Since I am using this for a project, I want it to have a rechargeable battery. I ripped apart a solar rechargeable battery, which had a battery resembling the ones out of phones (Nokias maybe, like the one in the image)Unknown.jpeg
The battery had charging protection, an 2 usb ports. I connected my speaker to the battery and played dome music. It was all fine although after about 3 seconds the speaker cuts out for a split second. This could be to do with the speakers drawing too much current, if so what would be a simple way to reduce current.

NOTE: I dont have a multimeter yet (it broke) so I cant measure the current draw of the speakers.

Nevermind, did it. Using 2 IN4007 diodes going in opposite directoions, hooked up on the positive lead did the job!

If the diodes pair is connected in series then the symptom was caused by the voltage being a bit to high. An effective fix, but not the best efficiency.
