Was told this was a spark gap. Feeling a bit missinformed.

 

Looks like a high precision, glass encased resistor.

 

You could probably work out the ratings based on the circuit.

But what is the board from? That can give some ideas of what it is or why it's a spark gap.

I can't be sure, but the X and Y class caps, the MOVs, and the choke make it look like the mains input to a power supply.

More context would be nice, of course.

 

Perhaps a GDT? gas discharge tube.

 

Its for a toshiba hydrobox (hws601) pcb mcc 5014. To much power was drawn from a water pump that was stuck and component flashed

 

Designation SG does signify a spark gap.

Spark gaps don't usually fail, and if they do it will be very obvious (black/metal deposits inside the glass or exploded altogether) They are designed to flash over when the voltage across them becomes too high in order to protect other components. If your board does not work you might have to look elsewhere.
