@ Derstom8 ,I don't have medical advice....but I've been thinking....egg nog has eggs

and a lot of food stuff,it should go down. That yogurt that the girl on T.V. should

slid. Butter milk and cornbread for a change of pace ,the corn bread can have butter

and other good stuff if you do the right ratio...a lot of butter milk and enough cornbread

to slide down. If you have pain going down, that a different. If that don't work feed your

with a tube or vein. Don't do something and kick the bucket. Maybe the guys can think

of some good food stuff that will slid down. A dose of Loosewires humor should help.

Web M.D. has help with from you type in,try it. The corn bread mixed with lots of

butter milk ,stir it real fine. Start with a half tea spoon and smack your lips. Get some

food stuff down a little at a time ,long as you have no pain and know it won't block

something. I just talking about some food value ,you are your own doctor and you are

a wise man. You should see me smacking my lips ,it works....it mash's the food.

Thanks guys,

I've now been to the hospital four times and to the doctor's countless more, and still they do not know what is causing it. I have to be careful what I eat, because most of what has been mentioned does not agree with my stomach. My hospital visit this morning gave it a name at least: "Functional dyspepsia". From what I understand, it means the stomach does not expand to accept food, so I feel full after eating very little. It is also directly connected to a big nerve that controls the nausea centers of the brain, which tends to make me feel nauseous. These symptoms coupled have caused me to lose a lot of weight. I am hoping to snap out of it, but it would be nice to know what caused the dyspepsia. I may have been born with it, since I have had this for as long as I can remember, just not this bad.

I have been tested for Crohn's disease, Celiac disease, mononucleosis, and many others but all tests came back negative. Right now I'm on half a different medications to hopefully settle things down to a point where I can function normally.

Anyway, my health is not the purpose of this thread, so I apologize for taking it off topic. I thank you both for your concern! And again, it's nice to have you back Loosie!

Regards,
Matt

Lucky me!

I can name 3 foods that I must not eat and 6 foods that I don't like, but I'm still the dinner hog I was 50 years ago. I just have to cut down on the, "hog" part to avoid being fat.

I have Crohns, I am due for another operation this week, it was meant to be today, but I am not up to it, I have blood test and the two things that give Crohns away is CRP level's (normal <5 mine 126), and another I cant remember, it took 2 years to diagnose my Crohns and by then it was bad enough to have 1 1/2 meter Bowel removed.
Some time this week I am too have more removed and I face life with a stoma after, I also have a tumor this time near to the site, my Crohns is genectic as my dad has it and grandad had it, I pray its not Crohns for you, I pray its a nasty IBS. Are you on prednisilone? or other steroid?
Stay away from the drug over here its called humor.... something, its awful. I also have chemo type drugs to inhibit my immune system. Good luck I wish you well and hope its some thing simple. Remember just because it comes back as not Crohns dosnt mean it isnt, I had 3 CAT scans with dye and a MRI scan and 2 x sigmoidoscopy and 4 x colonoscopy before finally the man said you have Crohns.
My first GP (general doctor in UK) treated it like it was a bit of a poorly stomach, little more than a touch of IBS, trust me Crohns is a very long way from that! I am at home sitting waiting for my Blood results, I am praying for bad results, good results mean I go in and have a bag too poo in for the rest of my life.

One more thing Matt, try Ensure+ its a special drink that you can in theory live on, it might be called something else there, I am on Modulin, its a liquid food, I am not allowed anything else, in my case I cant tollerate it well, so its fed direct into my stomach via a feeding tube. Please ask your doctor about it, you feel hungry on it but it helps alot and it will keep your essential nourishment levels up, I have had it upto 6 months at a time, no milk or anything remotely food like, but it keep's you alive.
PM me here if you need/want information, my mum can give you a great deal of information of things to try.
Very best of wishes

No, I am trying to stay away from as many meds as I can, but currently I am having to take one for anxiety, one for acid reflux, one for nausea, and one as some sort of relaxant for my stomach to allow it to stretch more.

The medication I take for nausea is designed for Chemo patients, but my doctor suggested I use it to help prevent the frequent nausea I get. Your meds sound nasty though, and I'll keep an eye out for the ones you mentioned.

I appreciate your suggestions very much LG, thank you. I used to drink Ensure but it would never settle on my stomach, and I would feel very sick after drinking it. The same goes for a lot of those nutrient drinks, which is too bad considering how much they could help me. Unfortunately my body reject it, which pretty much defeats the purpose. I am currently still trying different diets to see what I can do to gain weight. I think that's really my first step--figure out what I can eat. Whatever this is it has been debilitating and I need to figure out what I can do about it.

Once again I would like to thank everyone for your kind wishes and your concern. However, this is Loosie's thread and it is not about my health, so we have dragged it a bit off topic :p:D

If anyone has any other questions, comments, or suggestions, feel free to PM me.

Kindest regards,
Matt
