Hello,

It seems that these UVc LEDs are expensive or what. Digikey, Mouser, all priced quite high.
Any more reasonable source (other than eBay) for these LEDs?
They probably dont make them in 5mm standard package but if so that would be nice, otherwise SMD packages would be ok.
Maximum wavelength of 279nm.

If you plan to use these to "kill" viruses, you need to be closer to 100nm wavelength if you want to avoid risk of skin damage.

Where is the information that 100nm is less damaging to skin that 265nm? And your text image indicated 265nm is peak for germicidal activity, if that's the OP's intent.

I think it is the 185nm and less that dont hurt the skin at levels that kill viruses, this is called "far UV light" whereas the regular UVc is the one that is harmful to humans. The shorter wavelength requires less power to kill small organisms.
I think this is relatively new technology though and is more expensive and not as well known yet.
The 260nm-ish UVc is the regular UVc and supposedly damages skin and eyes at levels required to kill viruses and bacteria.
If you look up "Far UV" you can probably find a bunch on this topic.
