Soldering mini-din wires directly to PCB

Hi there everybody! i'm new here and i was hoping to find some help with a soldering-wires problem i'm having. i was trying to repair a stereo 2.1 set by creative called inspire a200 (http://support.you.gr/catalog/17/17E450C2EC2AEA45A353BCD52E4758ED.pdf) because the mini-din9 female port got screwed by accident. the first thing i did was to unsolder the screwed port from the pcb to solder a new one, but since i wasn't so expert with unsoldering issues (and the solder tip was too big), aparently i damaged some nearby pieces of the pcb. my fault. so i searched online for the schematics but i found nothing. i did found however a post in a polish forum, where they cut off the male connector to solder the wires directly to the pcb. i followed some translated instructions and the images and i managed to solder all the wires as explained (in the process i discovered that 2 wires were swapped) and i got the two stereo speakers to work. the problem is that the subwoofer doesn't, and i think is related to another issue: the power switch led on the volume it's always turned on.
as a newbie in electronics i'm thinking that there are simply other swapped wires to find.
there is however the possibility that some other circuitry or transistors got damaged, but i don't have a tester and right now i'm just focusing on getting the wires right.
i'm trying not to spend any money in this because i just transfered i new place, got a new job (can't complain), and right now i have other spending priorities.
in the eventuality that the real problem is board related i will take it to a specialist sometime in the future.
i have little to none competence in electronics and would be awesome if someone cloud help.
thanks

is there a way to check if the wires are correct from the pins on the volume board? i know that usually white and red are left and right, and black should be ground, but in the process of making the two speakers work i discovered that red and orange were swapped. i'm not sure i can rely on colors anymore.

Hi :) I'm trying to do exactly the same thing on a HERCULES pair of speakers, but i need help to :'(
How do you know which wire to solder to which point on the pcb ? You know if there is a way to do it ? Thanks, i hope u succeded

hi guys thank you for the replies. unfortunately i haven't been able to solve the problem thus far. i did find the same two references back in the day but were of little help.
i did anyway find a picture online with an apparent solution to my problem, but to me doesn't seem to work. maybe i fried the poor thing. dunno. i'll try again this weekend, and if nothing happens i think i'll take it to a specialist. i'll let u know.
meanwhile, the mentioned picture:

i noticed yesterday that i could refer to the pins scheme to sort of "back engineering" the inputs on the pcb, with colors and numbers, but i'm not a specialist and the schemes aren't translated so it would take time and trial&errors.
to answer your question no, sadly i don't know the corrispondence between wires and ciruitry, BUT, i think 9 pins mini dins have a standard, speaking of outputs, as every wire. i'm not 100% sure because i found discordant solutions in my research with different models (not sure about your model but i'll do a research). it seems that since the wire is not supposed to be changed or replaced (one end is soldered into a speaker, the other end has 9pins) every company has a way to adapt to 9pin mini-din to their circuitry, without bothering sobstitution.

Ok i see, thanks for the help.

I'll try it next week. And i dont have it with me now.
But i'll guess i'll start by unsolder the mini Din connector from the pcb and see if i can see any correspondence between the solder points and the entry point of the pins.
