Someone has suggested that fixing a broken USB micro port is as easy as completely removing the USB port, then cutting the USB cable and soldering the wires directly to the PC board.
It seems to me this would be very difficult. Much harder than soldering another USB port back onto the board.
What do they know that I don't?
