65 in a 55, straight, dry, and i didn't even notice myself picking up speed, there weren't even hardly any cars on the road (cept a cop, I didn't even realize it was a cop till he was right in front of me)
the average speed of someone on that road is about 75, the guy a few hundred meters in front of me was doing at least the same speed as me
then cop actually asked me why i was acting nervous
I only got a warning, not even a big deal, dads gotten 13 speeding TICKETS, idk how many warnings, yet i have this terrible stressed feeling inside not letting me sleep, and i hate it

long story short, life sux, speed limits are too low, and aren't there bigger problems in the world for cops to deal with?

Your lucky Magnet. Here its huge revenu gathering with speed cameras. You just get a bill in the mail, the dollar size is relevent to how far over the speed limit you are.

Just try to relax. Hakuna Matata and all that.:)

What has happened has happened. You can't changed what's happened by worrying about it, so don't worry about it.

Just be sure to watch your speed for a while.

At least he didn't find that kilo of coke... LOL

Seriously, this is a good cop--what good are fines other than paying for more cops? With the militarization of the police and recruitment of psychologically damaged combat vets, true public servants (peace officers) are now in the minority.

Yea, don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against cops, I know and like more than a few, one lets me shoot his sniper rifle from time to time (gf's stepdad, cool guy), the other once spent all night busting meth houses, and than all day laying down drum tracks for a band
I like cops, just dislike that they get me, and none of the drivers that are actually reckless

Well, all I can say is try to relax. It happens to the best of us. It sounds like you got pulled over by a nice officer. He only gave you a warning, and didn't tell you to get out of the car so he could search it! :D Anyway, he was just doing his job, and you know now to be more careful about your speed. No harm came from it, so there's nothing to worry about. If anything, you've learned something new, so you should be happy. Accidents happen, mistakes are made, but they all only work towards a greater good.

They automatically tell you, you look nervous. 1. to push your nerves. 2. As a precusor to searching your car.

I've been pulled over over 10 times in my life and have only gotten 1 ticket for an out headlight that was removed as soon as I showed a cop I fixed my headlight and he signed the ticket. Anyways cops are cops for a reason. Usually they were pushed around when little and have a napoleon complex, or their retired military and have XP already. But the best thing to do is play it cool, laugh with em. Joke with them immedietally. Have your license, registration, and insurance in your hand out the window before he even gets to your car. Just be nice to a cop and you can get away with bloody murder.

Now about don't they have better things to do...Actually no. These tickets they write make up a large part of their operating budget. And these cops/ST's are out there anyways patroling. And as Uncle Rico would say "Mine as well be doin somethin while your doin nothin."

Then take into account 90% of drug seizures are from "random" stops. And by random I mean your 16-30, a minority, or wear your hat backwards. Then you can see why they pull everyone that looks suspicious over.

like any other profession, officers work through the ranks. He had an assignment and was carrying it out, regardless if he enjoyed being there. Your assignment was easy, abide by the law. Live and learn.

Maybe he could had bigger (?) things to do but he did right.

Complaining about a cop doing his job is useless. Do not waste your time trying to convince who? Not even yourself (you know that). Life is too short.

Four days ago I had a catastrophic crash of one of my HDD in my PC. Lost between 6 to 8 weeks of data, very hard to rebuild. Spent already 4 days in that.

I positively know that it is MY fault because the way I was conducting my backup.

Many decades ago, a compatriot wrote a book about crossing the seas sailing solo.

After a (the first) bad experience with a strong gale, his major frustration was that he had nobody handy that he could blame.

Here, we hear quite often an expression (I suspect that is common in other places) saying: it is not me who punish you, is the law.

Meh, everyone is nervous around cops.

Personally, I don't even like cops. It's a generalization, but I 've never met anyone personally that I liked.

In Greece, street cops in rural areas often turn a blind eye for the locals, and fine the foreigners. Mom got fined for doing 90 in a 50 zone, just because the sign said so. The fact that it was in an uninhabited, rural zone and the only place to overtake in 30km was irrelevant.

I 've been pulled over once, for doing 125kmph in a 90kmph road. Got ticketed for doing 118kmph, in order to avoid the higher fine step.

Life goes on.

Please explain how speeding and mail and ur payment works.
Its very easy R!f@@. They have movable & fixed cameras that are trigered automaticly if you are over the set speed limit. In the picture is your car numberplate & speed. The bill is then mailed to the registered owner. It is then up to you to prove you werent driving. If you want a printout of the picture you have to request that with money. This system brings in huge revenue across Australia.

I've been let off for things I should have been ticketed for more times that I've been ticketed for things I should have been let off for, so I'm not too worried about it. I would say I'm "in the positive". I agree with maxpower, just be cool. And keep your hands where the cop can see them (on the steering wheel maybe). Any time a cop pulls someone over, they they never know what to expect; they could get shot as they approach the window, so keeping your hands where the cop can see them puts them at ease. Don't act P.O.'d and give an attitude. Cops are people; you can talk and be friendly with them, but don't get comfortable and start calling them "dude."

I used to work for a State trooper who was a really nice guy. Most of the town police officers who work in my hometown are really awesome people, with the exception of one in particular. I've never had a problem with the rest of them, however. I actually just had to help one of them out a couple weeks ago. I woke up in the morning to him knocking on my door. Apparently he was looking for the old owner of my house. He was really nice about it, and i happened to have the guy's contact information. I was able to point him in the right direction and the whole thing, though awkward, was fairly pleasant.

Okay, so I've gone a bit off track, but my point is that you should never have to fear police. Every now and then there's one who didn't get his coffee and donuts, but it never hurts to be polite. I have never talked to a police officer in person who wasn't a nice guy (or girl). Don't be nervous around them--they're only here to help.

Two things, first you didn't get a ticket. The second thing is by your own admission you weren't paying attention. Vehicle traffic law is generally a revenue enhancer for the municipality.
I remember my first stop, driving Dad's car, beautiful day, top down. Passed some geezer at 80 or so. (speed limits were 65 or so then on back roads). The "geezer" turned out to be an FBI agent. I was given two choices, he would escort me home and tell my parents, the other, wait for the locals and get a ticket. Luckily, the officer was the father of a classmate. And some people say there is no God!!. It was a long time before I got my first speeder after that.

yea, i was speeding, and he was doing his job, and i'm over it, and i recognize the need for it all, but i go like 10 over max, never thinking of touching my phone and usually never even taking my eyes over the road, and get pulled over. then there's the friends with radar detectors that regularly break 90 and text at the same time and they have never gotten pulled over once. The law enforcement system seems a wee bit unjust

that's just how it works man. And don't think that it will change if you change; In other words, if you decide to start texting while driving 90mph, you are going to get a ticket for texting while driving 90mph and it's going to seem even more unfair. Be observant. I used to have a radar detector and I got more tickets with it than I did without it. Reason being, you think "oh, I got a radar detector, I'm good" and you go off into stupid land until a cop sits behind a bush with his radar OFF until you pass, then turns it on and nails you. Think like a cop; "If I were a cop, I would sit on the other side of this hill and get magnet18 as he comes flying over the top" - so, you slow down before you top blind hills and go around blind corners and under overpasses with concealing embankments and low-to-the-ground billboards, and upward sloping entrance ramps, etc. Think like a cop, and keep your eyes open. This not only keeps you from getting tickets, but keeps you safer, as cops (usually) stake out areas which are accident prone; after all, their job is to keep people safe, not to write tickets (arguable). Also, continuously scan your rear-view; A cop's favorite trick is to "appear out of nowhere" behind you, and they are amazingly good at this.
