The black object with "+" and "AC" marked on it, is a full wave rectifier. It turns AC into DC.
The white/black wires are from the power line. The red/yellow wires the "+ red" and "yellow -" for DC.

It is more likely to be a Bridge Rectifier. AFAIK, I have never seen a full wave rectifier in that kind of square package.

Apparently, you didn't read your own link:

Types of Full Wave Rectifiers
  • Centre Tap Full Wave Rectifier
  • Full Wave Bridge Rectifier

I did read the link and there was a pretty clear distention between the properties. In any case, I have never seen the Center Tap Full Wave Rectifier in the 4-tab square package. I've only ever seen it implemented with discrete diodes. If you want to use the full names to avoid confusion, I have no problem with that. That is not what happened. That particular shorthand way of referring to those things was what I learned. Sorry your nose is so out of joint.
