My google skills are lacking today. Where can I get very thin wire for doing PCB rework? I remember being able to buy this from Alpha wire, but maybe i am not remembering correctly...

Very thin is not a precise description. What diameter do you need ? For small pieces of thin wire I would look for some multi strand flexible wire in my junk, strip off the insulation and just use individual strands.

A word of caution about soldering silver plated wire wrap wire. It solders beautifully with normal solder, but we were told by our quality department that we had to use silver loaded solder with it if we wanted long term reliability. This was because they claimed that if there was no silver in the solder that the silver plating would, over time, leach into the solder, essentially degrading the contact with the copper wire, potentially even allowing the wire to slip out. I'm no chemist, and have never seen this, but I've always grabbed the roll of silver loaded solder whenever I'm using wire wrap wire.
