Hey everyone!
I recently found this motor and I want to make it work somehow.
I'm guessing it's three phase but I'm not really sure.
Any istructions on how to wire it to work on single phase?
Any help would be awesome!

There is no way to make it run without a phase converter?

 

That is a 220v 1phase motor that requires a 8μf start cap.

A wiring diagram is typically found under the cover that you removed to take a picture of the terminal posts

Unfortunately there is no wiring diagram under the cover. It's not even rusty, there is just nothing.

That sucks. Maybe someone else here has a clue but I don't.

 

You could trace it with a resistance check to identify the two windings.

There is connection between 3-5 and 4-6. Since I don't have a meter I checked it using a dc motor and a dc power supply. The resistance between 4-6 must be lower than between 3-5 because the dc motor runs faster between those (4-6) terminals. Ya I know it's a bit amateur, but this is all I could do.

 

So I'm guessing 3-5 is the main winding because it has higher resistance, and maybe I could use a diagram like this?

 

The run winding is the lower resistance, the start winding highest.

Yes, I was wrong about that. Works perfectly with the changes (and I found a start cap for it). Thank you verry much for the help! Really appreciate it!
