Single Phase Motor wiring help.

Hello all.

I recently came into possession of a single phase 1.5kw induction motor. There where no capacitors attached, just the motor and pulley. I would like to know how to wire it up for 220v supply initially to test and possibly then to use as a generator driver by a lawn mower engine. But that's for another discussion.

Motor plate details:

Wiring config: the top two terminals are to the centrifugal switch. That much i have determined ok.

Thank you in advance for any help. Any information i may have missed please let me know and I will do my best to provide it.

This is how I think it will be connected.

The information on the label is not very clear. I think the start capacitor is between 160 anf 200 uF and I asume the 30 after the "/" is 30 uF ror a run capacitor. It will probably work without the run capacitor but give reduced torque. A run capacitor would be connected with one wire to the junction of the start winding and the start capacitor. The other wire to the right hand mains input.

What kind of generator voltage? AC or DC? if lower than ~60v you could use a auto alternator, an induction motor will require a magnetic field before it generates.

Already made one of the alternator generator, i use it to jump start tractors.
