Single Phase Motor (Benefits?)

See figure attached for the problem statement and my solution.

I think I've got everything down expect for the last question,

"Do you see any benefit in this technique for the utility?"

What could the benefit be? As we decrease the voltage across the motor, the power decrease roughly by a factor of 2. (This is based on only 1 measurement)

What could the possible benefit be?

Still stumped as to whether or not there is any benefit for the utility with a motor like this.

Any ideas?

The question is rather curious. It's difficult to see what the question might be driving at. In terms of this single motor considered in isolation - from the utility's perspective the benefit is marginal. When many consumers are connected to a common mains feeder, a drop in supply voltage will lead to an overall supply side load current drop - say from a substation. This perhaps allows the utility to connect more consumers or better manage peak demand without having to upgrade (=$cost) or overrate (=reduced life / risk of failure) the supply infrastructure. For the consumer there is a potential (but small) risk of maximum available energy reduction.
