hey guys need some help building a simple RC timer. I want to build a timer that will reset and start again. I want to use very basic parts resistors, caps, transistor etc. i know i can use a 555 timer but its too power hungry for my requirements. i want the timer to go off every two day cycle. the input voltage will be 5v

Have you considered CMOS? There is a 555 version, but you probably need something like the 4060, which also has an RC timer and a 14 stage ripple counter.
