Good Day!
- Info: I have a 1977 Mercedes-Benz W123, and I've installed an aftermarket central locking system.
- Issue: The main front door lock while I'm trying to open it.
After doing some research, I finally found a video titled (1972 to 1985 Mercedes Sedan Door Lock Troubleshooting: Little Spring Big Problem) which explains this issue for the W123. I realized this is a common problem with these models, especially since I don’t have the original rods or actuators anymore
The video highlights the spring responsible for preventing the door lock rod from moving down after unlocking
Now, I’ve decided to get the locking mechanism rods for my front doors. However, I need to know if I should use a 451M relay for this installation .
Since the rod spring is very strong, as shown in the video, I’m considering getting two actuators for each door (two 5-wire actuators for the main door) and installing the 451M relay to protect the central locking system. Does this sound like a good plan?
I also watched another video about installing two relays for aftermarket central locking systems, and I think it might be helpful. It certainly wouldn’t hurt .
What do you suggest?
Thank You
