Shortest possible travel (tact) switch

Hi

I am in the search for a switch that would have the shortest possible travel. So far the best is 0,11mm (Alps sktaaae010). It wouldn´t hurt to get into half of this. Also this one is really small and a bigger size would be a plus, but not a necessity.

I am looking into tactile swithes at the moment because they usually have rather short stroke.

Any other types of switches that would have very short travel?

This is for detection of cassettes in a device. The cassettes should be positioned as precicely as possible without the system getting pricey.

Thanks!

If just for one direction positioning, i.e. ignore hysteresis, the DIY CNC community regularly use a small prox switch for zero positioning.
Max.
