Shaft balancer on a budget

Hey

i would like to build shaft balancer using sound card and labview.

My ideal thought would be:
use some sort of sound card,
rotating motor would be from electric drill
angular position would be measured with pulse encoder.

Due to my inexperience with sound cards i'm not sure which sensor to use for measuring vibration.

I would need three inputs - 2 for vibration sensors and one for encoder

Machine should be capable to measure shafts with net weight of max 3kg inside G0.4 standard limitations.

Similar idea with some what different mechanical design.

Any ideas would be great.

I have experience with 3d mechanical modeling, 3d cnc machining, little with electronics but basics of electricity (father is electrician).

Thanks in advance

I would think you need at least twoo signals, one to measure centrifugal force andd another for shaft angle. Thee 2nd is easy.

Most but not all off balance shaft make periodical noise. The sonic output is like s high pitch on top of a periodic low pitch carrier. Thee carrier signall tells you how much and where the shaft is unbalanced.
