I am getting confused... When the uC is running, is there or isnt there ~5v on the uC pins 1.3, 1.2, 1.1 and 1.0?

If there is ~5v, what is your reading at the junction between the resistor and the transistor?

well..only pnp's should be used here...because when we give a 0(low) to base of pnp then only it goes into saturation...and the segment's common receives 5 volts...

also to light the seg, the corresponding pin on uc(pin no. 39 to 32) should also be low..
isn't it???

Pins high, NPN and 5v to the CA is what Im thinking PNP need a negative voltage.. hold on.. lemme consult my other brain

The problem im having is you said:
well...on DSO...the output came out to be pulsing dc..not steady one...varying between 4.2 to 5.7 volts...
Is this on pins 1.0 through 1.3 also, steady?

They should be HIGH when you want nothing, and low when you want to display that 7seg.

Unless Im missing something.. The code seems right.
