Servo pulses from Arduino

My first serious Arduino UNO project was a fairly simple one. it sends a sequence of presses by a servo arm to the button of a camera; switching its power on, selecting mode, starting and stopping the video, switching off. Works fine.

Out of curiosity I viewed the pulse train being sent to the servo with my scope and was surprised that it looked the same at all times. High going pulses of about 0.7 ms were about 20 ms apart - even when the servo was not activated. I expected to see ‘bursts’ each time the arm moved in or back?

I’ll probably post this in the Arduino forum as well.

Thanks all, much appreciated. Maybe I need to adjust the scope triggering so that I can observe the changes of pulse width.
