This is probably already available and I'm just not seeing, but here goes:

I want to search for a multi word phrase, and only accept matches for the complete phrase, not treat each word as a separate keyword. My search was for "analog discovery 2" because I wanted to find opinions on that device, but instead I simply got a list of forum posts that include the number 2! Not super helpful.

I put the entire phrase in double quotes in the search bar, which works for me in most search engines, but the quotes seem to have no effect here. How can I perform this search? If there is no way presently, then I suggest it be added. Searches that split everything into separate keywords are a nightmare!

 

Have you tried to SITE search and then filter by the forum?

 

That appears to work. It feels really strange to have to leave the forums in order to effectively search the forums, but at least it works! Is there a reason that the search engine within the forums can't behave more like the one accessed from the main site?

The forum software is its own database and algorithms.
We really try to promote the SITE search as the best overall solution.
