Where could one find imformation about the above, all my searches return
schottky diodes, im looking to buy a few but cant find any, like a list of different values. Thanks anyone.

 

Search for Shockley diode.

This is different from a Schottky diode.

 

Did search, but very little return and vage discription and know place to buy.

 

William Shockley won the Nobel Prize for his semiconductors work. The Shockley diode was the precursor to the transistor and is an obsolete device much like the early germanium transistors.

A Schockley diode is a thyristor developed in the late 50s or early 60s. It was a precursor to the SCR and Triac. I'm not sure you can still buy one. Here are some sites with information:

I have never seen one offered for sale. As far as I know with commercial production of transistors and solid state thyristors there has been no interest in Schockley diodes.

 

You can probably get them at the same place as you buy point contact transistors.

In the first paragraph of the linked article: "this type of diode is not available commercially and not particularly useful."
