I for one am very grateful I had a background in basic electronics and logic before I started to delve into programing, especially considering I started using PSoC where a great deal of that experience and knowledge is very useful with that particular platform.

The bad news is that even being a "GRAND-MASTER of all software skills" of programming will not help much with understanding circuit theory. And even the very best controls software needs to ultimately interface with the hardware part of the system. Even producing wonderful graphics on a high resolution monitor does not help to understand the electronics of the interface connections, and how that Super VGA monitor works internally.

Certainly a lot has been added to our age, but OHM'S LAW has not been revoked, and watts still equals VOLTS times AMPS, and all of that old stuff is still an actual part of how things work.
My point being that telling anyone that they are actually learning electronics when they are only learning to write code and buy modules is not even close to honest.
ALL of the software does nothing until it can be used by an actual hardware computer, composed of actual circuits with volts pushing amps thru actual conductors. The two can work together but they are not the same.

So telling folks they are learning electronics when they are only learning coding is not right.

I certainly hope that this extended rant of mine has not offended the moderators!! It is a bit off the original topic.
